BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY for 13 yrs & up

Monday 8/9, 8/23, 8/30, 9/6 (7-9:30 pm)

$200

During five weekly sessions we cover the fundamentals that will allow you to take better images on a consistent basis. Through a combination of lecture, in-class exercises, demonstrations, shooting assignments and image critique you'll build a solid understanding of how to capture the images you want. Some of the topics included are the basics of composition, shutter speeds, f-stops, metering techniques, color balance, and automatic camera functions. For this class you will need a camera capable of full manual operation.

 

LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY for 13 yrs & up

Wednesday 9/15, 9/22 (7-9:30 pm)

Field shooting Saturday 9/18 at 10am-2pm.

$150

During this three session class you will learn to use the elements of good landscape photography to improve your landscape images.  The first session is held in the classroom to examine and discuss the fundamentals and techniques of capturing landscapes.  This is followed by a day of shooting assignments a field location with the class and instructor.  At the last session we review, discuss, and critique the images taken by the class. 

INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOSHOP for 13 yrs & up

Thursday 9/9, 9/16, 9/23, 9/30 (7-9:30 pm)

$200

This course is focused on familiarizing you with the Photoshop working environment, understanding the tools available, and customizing the working environment to simplify your editing. You'll also learn to perform the adjustments most commonly needed for digital images. For this class you will need your own laptop computer with an installed licensed version of Photoshop.

 

FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY for 13 yrs & up

Monday 9/20, 9/27, 10/4 (7-9:30 pm)

$150
Over three weekly sessions you’ll learn to understand and make the most of use your built-in pop up flash.  We’ll also cover using a hot shoe flash both on and off the camera in wired and wireless configurations.  Some of the topics we’ll cover are x-sync, 1st and 2nd curtain sync, fill flash, ETTL/TTL, flash compensation, dragging the shutter, guide numbers, and using light modifiers.

 

MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY for 13 yrs & up

Tuesday 9/21, 9/28, 10/5 (7-9:30 pm)

$150
This introductory course will cover the equipment and techniques needed for photographing the little things around us. Students enrolling in this class must posses a firm understanding of basic photography.
